I dropped the dish into the sink of soapy water. It hit the bottom with a thud as my eyes brimmed with tears, my hands resting in the hot sudsy water as tears streamed down my face. My heart felt like it was breaking. I was so confused…
Gratitude changes our hearts from feeling discontented when we have to leave Joanna’s cute home décor at Target, to feeling grateful for the things God has abundantly given.
“Aslan,” said Lucy “you’re bigger”.
“That is because you are older, little one” answered he.
“Not because you are?”
“I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”
I had a story I wanted to live. It was a small, selfish story that went something like this: “Rachel was loved by all who knew her, she married a nice Christian man when she was 22, had some children, and died peacefully in her sleep from old age.” Pretty boring, huh? Yeah, God thought so, too.
Christ was sufficient in my singleness and He is sufficient in my marriage.
